Whitehorse City Council (“Council”) collects, holds, and manages personal information in accordance with the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 (Vic) (“PDP Act”).
MailChimp is an online communication delivery tool selected by Council. It allows information on various topics of interest to you to be delivered directly from Council. If you wish to receive Council’s newsletters and information using MailChimp, users must first subscribe to each service via an online subscriber form or via email request to Council.
Information submitted using MailChimp will be accessed by Council officers and MailChimp. The intended recipients of the information are Council Officers, Council’s authorised contractors and consultants. Your email address may be accessed by Council staff or by MailChimp staff, but only to the extent necessary to provide services to you and to exclude you from future sign-up alerts.
Council will not otherwise use or disclose your personal information without obtaining your consent or unless it is required or authorised by law to do so.
To assist with the storage of the information MailChimp uses a data centre, which is located in the United States.
If you wish to access and correct your personal information provided when setting up an account and held by MailChimp, you can access your details through the ‘update your preferences’ or ‘unsubscribe to this list’ option in all electronic communications sent via MailChimp or by emailing the Customer Service Centre.
